The Bois d' Arc is a common tree in East Texas. A strong wood,
but also bendable, it was used in early Texas fences, building foundations,
ox-yokes, and paving blocks.
This marker is located at US 82 West of Roy's Cafe, by a 153-year old
Bois d’ Arc tree that has won Texas champion of its species.
