Robert Gilmour LeTourneau invented, developed and manufactured equipment for industries such as heavy construction, mining, logging, land clearing, and off shore oil drilling. LeTourneau began his manufacturing in California in 1921, and opened his plant in Longview after WWII. He also founded the LeTourneau University.
Marker is located at entrance to LeTourneau College, 2100 S Moberly Avenue in Longview.
