Description

The Angelina National Forest is one of four National Forest in Texas. Stretching over four counties the forest encompasses over 153,000 acres. In 1935 development of the forest was triggered by a push to preserve the nation's rapidly diminishing forest lands. Thanks to the joint efforts of the Texas Forest Service and the U.S. Forest Service the Angelina National Forest boasts a successful timber management program. Other areas of interest include the historic Aldridge Sawmill site and the Boykin Springs Recreation Area.
