Description  

In the 1930s, this area was part of the Lorenzo de Zavalla land grant. Once called Farr’s Mill, the community was named for Alfred Farr, who established Farr’s Methodist Church nearby. A water mill, gristmill, cotton gin, sawmill and tannery made this a major trade center.
