Description  
Shelby County Museum is located at 230 Pecan Street in Center, in the newly renovated circa 1900 Weaver-Oates house. Exhibits in the Museum highlight some of the more than 270 sawmills and lumber interests located in Shelby County since 1849. Especially strong is the Museum's collection of photos, company script, and tales associated with the Pickering Lumber Company (1909-1930). The Museum is also well known for its Genealogy Research Library and Archives.
   
Hours: 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday
and 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
