The Texas Forestry Museum and Urban Wildscape Trail, located at 1905 Atkinson Drive in Lufkin, is the only museum in the state dedicated solely to preserving the legacy of the people, places and products of forestry and forest industries in Texas. Exhibits focus on tools and equipment from the industry, modern forest management techniques including forest fires and forest regeneration, and life in a company-owned sawmill town. Inductees into the Texas Forestry Hall of Fame are presented in the museum. There is a logging train exhibited outdoors. The adjacent Urban Wildscape Trail with comfortable walks and species interpretation is partially handicap accessible.
