Historicial Development: J. H. Rogers and T. A. Ward mortgaged on June 5, 1909, for $850 to Dilley & Son a steam engine, a boiler, and a shingle machine. On November 1, 1909, to First National Bank at Jacksonville for $257, they mortgaged a total of 200,000 shingles. The mortgage below indicates that T. A. Ward & Bro succeeded Rogers & Ward sometime before June, 1911. J. L. Hall mortgaged on June 12, 1911, to T. A. Ward & Bro for $1,400 a “boiler, 1 st engine, 1 shingle machine, 2 mules, 2 wagons.”
