Historicial Development: J. R. and C. A. Paine (Payne) mortgaged in 1907 to Pearl Sessions for $600 a steam engine, a boiler, and a sawmill. Ms. Sessions was the wife of Rube Sessions, a noted sawmiller of the Wells and Forest area. It is very possible that the location of this sawmill was in the Wells area.
