Historicial Development: C. T. DuPree operated a sawmill in Harris County in 1870 in which he had a $4,500 capital investment, according to the Harris County Census of 1870. Employing seven men for three months who earned $820 total, Dupree's mill had $230 in raw logs and manufactured 144,000 feet of lumber worth $1,725. This is probably the same C. T. DuPree who operated a sawmill in the 19th Subdivision, Danville post office, area of Montgomery County in 1870.
