The Barber Lumber Company had a mill at Ruliff, five miles to the northeast, reported in January's 1905 Lumberman's Credit Association listing but not in its 1907 reference book. Southern Lumberman reported in July 1908 that the Barber Lumber Company was a 50,000-ft capacity mill that was shut down for the summer while a tram road was being built.
