Historicial Development: This sawmill site appears in a list of Ogletree mills in the San Jacinto County deed records of 1934: Crockett, Shepherd, New Caney, Livingston, and Center. In 1927, the Shepherd mill was listed in San Jacinto County records as being at Milledge Switch, between Urbana and Shepherd, while another was identified as being at Oakwood in Leon County.
