History: John Schmidt and Charles Popp of the Schmidt and Popp Lumber Company bought, in 1921, from the Birmingham Rail and Locomotive Company a standard-gauge “two track [sic: “truck”] Lima Shay geared locomotive” with three cylinders (8-inch by 8-inch). The factory numeric identifier was #2608, but Schmidt & Popp changed it to the letter “I.” The lien was canceled on November 2, 1922.
