C. J. Robertson, Sr., Lumber Company

C. J. Robertson, Sr., was operating a sawmill at Humble in 1947. By January 15, 1949, Robertson was advertising the facility for sale. It was described as a “Complete RH Steam Circular Sawmill and gas engine driven planing mill 25M cap.” He also had five logging trucks and one log loader for sale. Other equipment for sale included a Cunningham mill, a Champ carriage, a twin engine feed, a roller bearing mandrel, a heavy sawdust rig, 50-ft rolls, 32-inch edger, 20-ft trimmer, a complete slab elevator, a dipping vat, green chains, a Houston Stanton & Gamble engine, a firebox boiler #250 with a 70-ft stack, shafting and pulleys, idlers, belts, saws, compressors, etc. Robertson also had a planing mill with a 150-horsepower Hercules gas engine, a round cylinder matcher, an exhauster fan, 175 feet of 18-inch pipe with switches, a knife grinder and cutoff saw, and complete heads, knives, pulleys and shafting.
