Ogletree Lumber Company
The Gulf Coast Lumberman reported in 1929 that the Ogletree Hardwood Lumber Company was building a new mill at Livingston, and in 1930 that the Polk County Lumber Company changed its name to the Ogletree Hardwood Lumber Company. Ogletree may have bought out the Polk County Lumber sawmill plant. Ogletree Lumber appeared in the 1957 edition of Nelson T. Samson's Directory of Wood-Using and Related Industries in East Texas. San Jacinto County records from 1927 and 1934 identify other Ogletree Hardwood sawmill sites at Crockett, Shepherd (Milledge Switch), New Caney, Livingston, Oakwood, and Center.
