J. H. Childress was operating a sawmill in Sabine County in 1908. He mortgaged the following to W. E. Taylor on January 22, 1908: one-quarter of the timber and one-half of the mill cut at the J. S. Culbertson place, and the boiler and steam engine, sawmill and carriage, saws.
