T. T. Smith

T. T Smith operated a sawmill at Carthage in 1928, manufacturing crossties. On March 22, 1931, reported The Gulf Coast Lumberman, the T . T. Smith sawmill burned at Center, with a loss of $1,500.
T. T. Smith and Smith Lumber, both at Center, were not unrelated companies. Mildred Cariker Pinkston in People, Places & Happenings noted that Tolt Smith's Smith Lumber Company was one of the biggest and most successful enterprises in Center.
