J. E. Peavy

In his thesis, Archie Birdsong Matthews wrote that J. E. Peavy owned and operated a small sawmill at Peavy Switch, located just south of Hudson, before 1900. The Texas South-Eastern, according to the Handbook of Texas, built and used a switch at Peavy, through which it shipped sawlogs from 1900 to about 1910.
