The Casena Sawmill

Casena was an early community of Angelina County, Texas, located about halfway between the Neches River and what is now Diboll. A secondary source reported ninety years after the fact that “In 1880 or 1881 the first house of lumber was erected. The lumber was secured at a little sawmill located about halfway between Emporia and the Neches River known as Casena.”
