Philip A. Ryan Lumber Company
The Philip A. Ryan Lumber Company was a Tennessee corporation that built hardwood mills at Manning, Onalaska, and Lufkin. The hardwood mill built at Manning, in 1915, resulted from a deal that one of the owners of the Carter-Kelley operation there, George A. Kelley, made with Ryan, according to The Gulf Coast Lumberman. The logging crews of Carter-Kelley, apparently, were going to supply the Ryan mill with hardwood timber.
