Aycock and Poole

Aycock and R. H. Poole owned operated a sawmill plant at Frankston. The Aycock and Poole circular sawmill plant at Frankston appears in the Southern Lumberman's 1928 edition of Directory of American Saw Mills and Planing Mills. It could cut 25,000 board feet daily. Poole moved to Avinger in 1926 to take over the E. C. Henderson planing mill there. Aycock and Poole did not survive the Great Depression in Frankston. They were not listed in the Lumbermen's Credit Rating Book, October 1934. According to Frank McKenzie, the Poole sawmill suffered a serious fire.
