Rucker

In two months of operation, according to the Census of 1870, the Rucker combination mill used $1,340 in raw materials in lumber and $300 in corn (300 bushels). This mill produced 150,000 feet of lumber worth $4,000 and $350 worth of cornmeal. Capitalized at $4,000 ($500 of it in the grist mill), it operated with a steam engine of 30-horsepower and one saw. Rucker employed nine men whom he paid a total of $1,050.
