Weaver Brothers & Thompson

In 1928, the Weaver Brothers & Thompson Lumber Company was reported to have had at Neches a circular sawmill milling 20,000 feet of lumber daily from red gum, red and white oak, and shortleaf yellow pine. This may be the Weaver Brothers operation that W. H. Reynolds and Sons of Houston County sold lumber to in 1930.
The Weaver Brothers &Thompson operation operated a tram logging road apparently near Latexo, Houston County, for Strapac states that they were working one of the former Alexander Gilmer Lumber Company steam locomotives.
Webb noted that the International & Great Northern created a stop in Anderson County about four miles from the Neches River. The stop was named after the river.
