Charles H. Proetz Lumber Company
The Charles H. Proetz Lumber Company sawmill suffered a $50,000-loss fire on October 11, 1953. The damage was repaired, and by 1960, the mill produced 4,189,000 board feet of lumber The mill was possibly a portable mill. A Southern Lumberman ad in 1963 noted that the yellow pine and hardwood lumber was produced by bandsaw, planer, and resaw.
