Charles L. Miller
Located, in 1925, between the Alto Home Electric Light & Ice Company and the water tower, the Miller lumber plant included a planer and a lumber yard, which had a siding connecting the facility to the Cotton Belt. Its electric power came from Alto Home Electric in return for blowing its shavings to be used in the boilers of the power plant. Charles Miller organized the Miller Lumber Company later. In 1929, he bought a pair of horizontal boilers from Gulf Public Service Company for $150.
Miller provided a commissary for his employees.
