Green & Duncan Lumber Company

According to a trade journal of the day, Blount & Perry Lumber Company operated a sawmill at Ponta, in Cherokee County, in 1907. Cherokee County records clarify that this was a sawmill plant of E. A. Blount of Nacogdoches. On February 9, 1907, Green & Duncan Lumber Company (also known as Worthington-Green) bought for $13,000 from E. A. Blount five log wagons, twenty-six oxen, the planer and its machinery, all of the Blount & Perry sawmill plant, and 600,000 feet of rough lumber.
The Blount & Perry company, in February 1910, was still in business, according to a Nacogdoches newspaper report.
