Broome & Marlowe

According to the Cherokee County History, Cicero Broome and William F. Marlowe operated a 10,000 foot-a-day sawmill five miles east of Rusk in 1859. They had purchased 1,610 acres on the William Box Survey and placed a steam-powered sawmill there. It was adjacent to the Fort Houston Road, southwest of Pine Town between the Neches River and Tail's Creek.
