G. R. Prince, during the latter part of the 1920s, had a sawmill and planing mill located on Blocks 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 on Block 11 of Wells, Texas. In 1929, Rube Sessions bought the land and all of the sawmill equipment, except a planer, a grinder, and a steam engine.
