William Thomas Holcomb
The Cherokee County Historical Commission reports that William Thomas Holcomb had an industrial plant five miles south of Rusk, in what was known as Holcomb community, which manufactured cornmeal and lumber, and ginned cotton.
Holcomb mortgaged in 1898 three yokes of oxen, a log wagon, and three horses. He mortgaged in 1899 to Tyler Machine Company a boiler and 24,000 feet of 1-inch by 12-inch by 20-inch lumber.
