Maness and Hatchett
The sawmill firm of Maness and Hatchett operated during the early 1900s in Cherokee County. In 1907, Maness and Hatchett mortgaged to Dr. McCord for $954 a boiler, a steam engine, and a complete sawmill. In 1909, they mortgaged to Farmer Merchants State Bank for $676, pledging 250,000 feet of lumber.
