Oscar and Albert Reinhardt

Oscar and Albert Reinhardt moved their father's (Henry) sawmill from Waller County to Harris County sometime in the late 1930s. Using a Frick #0 sawmill with an Atkins Selver steel 48-inch circular saw powered by a 40-horsepower diesel engine, the daily cutting capacity was 3,500 board feet. The mill also included a planer. The Reinhardts sold slabs and edgings for fifty cents per load and sold board ends to a cabinet maker in Bellville. At first sawdust was shoveled out by hand, but later it was moved by a sawdust chain and hauled to the unsold slab and edging pile. There all the debris was burned.
