W. T. Pinkard

According to the Cherokee County History, W. T. Pinkard owned timber pineries at Kickapoo. He erected a sawmill at Price's Switch on the Neches River at the International & Great Northern. Pinkard's loggers would cut the timber at Kickapoo, then float them down the Neches to Price's Switch where they would be snagged from the river and sawn. The final step was to ship the lumber from the switch on the I&GN railroad.
Pinkard would also buy from other sawmillers. Francis & Huggins mortgaged (sold?) to W. T. Pinkard in 1907 four car loads of lumber for $660.
