Wallace Furniture Company of Alto began as a farm shop run by Robert F. Wallace at Lynches Chapel. It moved into Alto, where it expanded into a furniture manufacturing company. He made school desks, chairs, cabinets, cedar chests, bedsteads, suites of furniture, and other sundries. He stated, “his customers were his only advertisements.”
