This mill appeared in an 1884 railroad directory. W. T. Whiteman, later a partner in the Whiteman-Decker sawmill at Caro and the Blount-Decker sawmill at Alto, after the turn of the century, served his initial sawmill experience with Henderson, after Whiteman had finished college at Jackson, Louisiana, in 1891.
