Austin & Riley

Some confusion exists on the capacity of the mill. The Santa Fe circular and the October, 1904, edition of the Beaumont Enterprise report the lesser amount. The Beaumont January cite of that year reports 40,000 feet. Southern Industrial and Lumber Review reported that this mill was manufacturing 15,000 feet of lumber in 1906. The assumption is that the listings for 1905 and 1906 for Montgomery are the Junction, which is Yells, and not the town. Otherwise, Austin & Riley may have moved their mill a few miles north to Montgomery. They are listed in 1907 LCA rating at Montgomery.
