Sawyer & Son
The firm of Sawyer & Son may be a later development of of Sawyer and Company operated a sawmill on the Houston East and West Texas Railway, south of the Trinity River, in 1880. This Sawyer may be E. M. B. Sawyer who had a sawmill located on the Trinity River in Liberty County from 1876 to 1878.
In 1893, Sawyer & Son were reported to be cutting 12,000 feet daily at Sawyer.
