Clanton Brantner ran a planing mill on the Miller tract two miles east of Conroe. His equipment included a J A Fay planer, a six-cylinder double-head International motor, and a 22-ft by 28-ft planer-mill shed on Highway 105. Brantner sold the mill to Fontaine Erskine in 1946.
