Tilford-Hunt Lumber Company

The Lacyville plant of the Tilford-Hunt Lumber Company was established in 1904. The Handbook of Texas states that the community had a population of about 300 and was located about eight mile southeast of Nacogdoches, adjacent to the tracks of the Texas & New Orleans. By 1947, the plant was in the assets of the Lacy H. Hunt Lumber Company, of Nacogdoches. The company announced in 1948, according to The Gulf Coast Lumberman, that the plant was being sold in the interests of better forestry.
