Dial & Porter Lumber Co

With the founding of Woden along the tracks of the Nacogdoches and Southeastern Railway shortline of the Hayward Lumber Company, sawmill companies had the opportunity to exploit the pineries to the southeast of the county seat. The Southern Industrial and Lumber Review reported in September, 1906, that the Dial & Porter Lumber Company was cutting 20,000 feet daily at Woden.
