R. A. Jones Mill

The R. A. Jones Mill firm, according to a Nacogdoches newspaper in May, was operating a circular sawmill seven miles east of Nacogdoches on the Logansport Road in 1901. The county records indicate that Jones was buying and selling land on the Maria Joseph Arriola grant in the area of the Logansport and the Martinsville/Nacogdoches roads in 1901.
A Nacogdoches newspaper in March, 1901, mentioned that Capt. John Ross, the manager of the Garrison brick yard, was running a sawmill on the Logansport Road, seven miles from Garrison. W. H. Pleasant of Shady Grove visited Nacogdoches in March 1902. He reported that a man named Emmons had died at Lacy's Mill.
