Cushing Lumber Company

Tom Wallace, as Cushing Lumber Company, operated a sawmill known as “Wallace Mills” located about four miles from Trawick. On May 20, 1907, Wallace contracted to sell his cut to J. H. Summers and Son. The following month Wallace sold his operation to J. H. Summers & Sons. It is possible that Summers and Sons, as the Cushing Lumber Company, moved the plant to Trawick, for it is noted later as operating at that site. The property, besides the sawmill, included some tenant housing and logging equipment.
