Daniel Lumber Company
This mill at or near Caro was originally a William Fleming Daniel and C. B. Spivey operation, who was later joined by H. V. Sitton. In 1909, Sitton, who had sawmilling connections with Fleming at Redlawn as well as at Caro, gave Daniel a Warranty Deed on the Caro sawmill. The mill operated until World War I. Awtrey Fleming Daniel, son of W. F. Daniel, sold more than two hundred thousand feet of lumber from his mill, seven miles south of Cushing, to Tilford-Hunt in 1917.
The Caro mill site may have originally been the site for the Ninty & Henslee mill announced in the American Lumberman in 1906. Daniel bought a townsite from the Henslees in 1907.
