Ennis & Boynton Lumber Co.

The American Lumberman reported in January 1901 that Wirt Boynton was putting in a sawmill at Swift. Newspaper accounts from Nacogdoches in 1901 indicated that Wirt Boynton was putting in a sawmill along the Attoyac River, somewhere north of Martinsville. Boynton was residing in Swift at that time. By February of that year, the mill was referred to as the Ennis and Boynton Lumber Company; the plant had a planer as well as a sawmill.
