G & S Lumber Company, Inc.

The G & S Lumber Company has manufactured lumber in Nacogdoches since 1978. Its executive leadership includes Kenneth S. Sutton, President; Martin McCollough, General Manager; and Freddy Coronado, Sawmill Manger. Mr. Sutton's family has a lumbering history that includes family mills at Colmesneil and Chireno prior to opening the Nacogdoches lumber plant.

The workforce, in an 8-hour day, can manufacture 36,000 board feet. Production capacity is 40,000 board feet in eight hours. In earlier years, the plant also manufactured pine products. Basic products include green dimension, railroad ties, and green studs. By products include chips, hog fuel, and sawdust. Lumber is unit strapped.
