J. A. Spears

J. A. Spears bought in 1922 from W. A. Parrott & Son ( A. R. Parrott) a steam sawmill plant located thirteen miles northwest of Nacogdoches on the Jake Russell and John Walker surveys, including the mill buildings and two small tenant houses.
W. A. Parrott had been operating a stave camp as early as 1903. That year a Nacogdoches newspaper reported that the W. A. Parrott stave camp required twenty-five animal teams to haul staves.
