J. S. Miller

Newspaper reports imply that J. S. Miller had a sawmill somewhere between the Sterne/Appleby region and Stoker. On 2 April 1902, a newspaper article noted that livestock, such as sheep, hogs and goats might roam free “beginning at the crossing of Sterne road and Appleby and Miller's road, near Bethel Church.” A week later the newspaper reported that J. S. Miller had left the sawmill and had gone to farming.
