Bill of Sale records from the county clerk's office note that the Tom Maxey and Frank Johnson sawmill in 1919 was located about seven miles west of Nacogdoches. On 23 August, Johnson sold some of the lumber from his mill to Tilford-Hunt Lumber Company of Nacogdoches.
