The newspaper reported that W. R. McManus was a tie contractor, working under contract to Cameron Lumber Company [probably for the Cameron plant at Michelli on the south bank of Angelina River on the Texas & New Orleans]. McManus had moved his tie camp from a location several miles south of Nacogdoches to a location four miles north of Mahl.
