Barber Lumber Company

The only Hartburg mill that appeared in the January 1907 published records of the Lumbermen's Credit Association and the 1915 U.S. Department of Commerce's report on sawmills was that of the Barber Lumber Company. The Barber Lumber Company had a mill at Ruliff, five miles to the northeast, reported in January's 1905 Lumberman's Credit Association listing but not in its 1907 reference book.
Southern Lumberman reported in July 1908 that the Barber Lumber Company was a 50,000-ft capacity mill that was shut down for the summer while a tram road was being built.
