William Davidson Mill
The origin of William Davidson's Newton sawmill is uncertain. The Southern Industrial and Lumber Review reported the William Davidson mill near Newton as having been destroyed by fire on February 12, 1904. Estimated loss was $1000, and there was no insurance reported. W. T. Block of Nederland located Davidson in the 1910 census as an “owner of (a) sawmill.”
