J. T. Hart Lumber Company
A contract entered into July 23, 1900, between J. T. Hart Lumber Company and R. L. Brady (of Hardin County) indicates that Hart was a sawmill firm contracting Brady to provide timber at Platillos Bluff on the Neches River. Either Hart had a mill at that site to saw the timber or he made arrangements to have it floated to the mill further down the Neches. The American Lumberman noted that month that the J. T. Hart Lumber Company of Orange County was completing its mill and soon to be in operation.
